Mission Statement: The Breckenridge Chamber of Commerce is an organization of businesses and individuals that work to promote the area by developing a strong and vibrant economy through business advocacy and leadership, thus creating a better quality of life. The following are but a few key benefits to our members:
- Visitors and Tourism Center – The Chamber of Commerce is the one of the information sources for visitors and tourists, our community, and our businesses. Place your business cards and/or your business fliers at the Chamber for distribution to visitors.
- Ribbon Cuttings - The Chamber provides a service to each member regarding a formal opening, new additions, or changes to their facilities. A complimentary photograph of the ribbon cutting is published free of charge to you in the Breckenridge American. This is an excellent introduction to the community and adds prestige to the opening activities. This photo will also be included in the next available e-newsletter.
- Bi-Monthly E-newsletter - It contains information regarding new business openings, calendar of events and meetings, and other information about the Chamber and the community. We are constantly working to improve community-wide communications by informing everyone on exactly what is going on in their surrounding area.
- Membership Referral – One of the most important benefits of membership in the Chamber is referrals by the Chamber office and other members.
- Community meeting room at no charge.
- Website Link – Members may have a link attached to the Chamber website.
- Membership Plaque – Every member receives an attractive plaque to show your active support of the Chamber of Commerce.
- Publicity and exposure – The Chamber will promote your business via our website and other publications during the year.
- Community Involvement – Chamber sponsored events are held all year long. These include, but are not limited to the Johnny Bates Memorial Golf Tournament, Stephens County Frontier Days, Fall Festival Weekend and Car Show (in conjunction with BISD Homecoming), the Chamber Annual Meeting, Auction & Banquet and many others.
- Quarterly Membership Events – On a quarterly basis, the Chamber will sponsor at least one of the following: A luncheon, Business After Hours, or Membership Meeting. These events give members an opportunity to promote their business, while networking with fellow Chamber members.
- Sponsorships – Chamber members are given opportunity for recognition at any and all events planned for Breckenridge and Stephens County by the Chamber.
- Youth Development and Recognition - The staff is active on advisory boards for BISD. We award a BISD Senior each six-weeks with a Student of the 6 Weeks Award and a chance to receive a $750 scholarship. At the end of the school year, the Chamber hosts a Scholarship Reception to recognize accomplished senior students, their parents, and their scholarship donors. The Chamber also works closely with Texas State Technical College and BISD for many different projects, including our new Student Leadership Program.
- Marketing Alliances - The Chamber is active in regional alliances to promote the City of Breckenridge, Stephens County, and Hubbard Creek Lake. We are members of the Texas Midwest Community Network, which is an alliance of more than 40 communities in our area that are focused on economic development, tourism development, regional awareness and promotion, and political action.
